WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Salisbury University
women's soccer team continues to find its stride offensively as the
Sea Gulls posted an 8-0 win over Capital Athletic Conference
opponent Gallaudet University on Tuesday afternoon. The Sea Gulls
remain unbeaten in conference play as they posted their third
straight shutout.
Salisbury (7-4-4, 5-0-2 CAC) navigated through the Bison
defense en route to the shutout win. Six different players found
the back of the net for the Sea Gulls in the win. Senior
Dana Passucci and junior Samantha
Asch paced the offense attack with two goals apiece.
Freshman Sarah Jessilonis notched her sixth goal
of the season, which leads the team, and sophomore Samantha
Kaufman recorded her third goal of the season. Junior
Julz Vendola and freshman Amanda
Miele each notched their first goal of the season to round
out the scoring for the Sea Gulls. Senior Gena
Goodson recorded her sixth shutout of the season as she
played all 90 minutes and improved to 7-4-4 on the season.
Goodson's defense of seniors Katie Marshall,
Kelli Salter, junior Hillary
Grove and sophomore Brionna Barber held
Gallaudet without a shot.
The Sea Gulls have played exceptionally well recently as they
have scored a goal in seven straight games. In the last three
games, the offense has poured in 16 goals all against conference
opponents.
The maroon and gold will look to continue their impressive play
as they close out the regular-season when they square-off against
CAC foe St. Mary's (Md.) College on Saturday, October 25, at the SU
Soccer Complex. The game time is set for 1 p.m.
