SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University men's
and women's tennis teams picked up Capital Athletic Conference wins
over Hood College on Wednesday afternoon at the SU outdoor courts
as the Sea Gulls swept the Blazers, 9-0.
The Salisbury women's team (9-2, 2-0 CAC) played five singles
matches and two doubles matches against the outmanned Hood team. SU
received wins in singles from Robyn Wendell,
Kristen King, Angela Tenaglia,
Julia Glanz and Lauren Bakker. In
doubles, SU top pair Anna Marie Kable and
Jackie Burr won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles.
Kelly Fahrner and Rachel Iosue
won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles.
On the men's side, SU coach Randy Halfpap was
able to switch up his line-up as several Sea Gull key reserves
earned wins for the maroon and gold. Salisbury (9-1, 2-0 CAC),
currently ranked No. 26 in the country, is set to host No. 20
Christopher Newport University on Thursday, March 27, at 3:30 p.m.
The Sea Gulls received singles' points from Brendan
Kincaid, David Lupinetti, Andrew
Nottage, Marcus Robinson, Giorgio
Athans and Matt Copeland. In doubles,
Kincaid paired up with Lupinetti at No. 1 doubles to win 8-2.
Nottage and Robinson swept Hood 8-0 at No. 2 doubles while Athans
and Copeland took a point at No. 3 doubles.
