FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team sent seven representatives to compete at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southeast Regional Championship, hosted by the University of Mary Washington from Thursday to Sunday at the UMW Tennis Complex.
TOURNAMENT NOTES
- Gurv Suri advanced to the round of 16 within the Championship Singles bracket, dispatching Stevens' Christopher Cho in three sets (6-3, 4-6, 10-6) in the round of 64 before making it past the round of 32 due to an opponent's injury. Suri was then knocked out in straight sets (6-0, 6-1) by Johns Hopkins' Adamantios Stavrakas.
- Lucas Pham bowed out of the main singles bracket in the first round but won a consolation bout with Lucas Bogle of Dickinson, 8-4.
- Nils Guyot won his opening match in the B3 Singles bracket, taking down Ben Price of Hampden-Sydney (6-2, 6-1) before bowing to UMW's William Fromherz [6-4, 7-6 (7-4)].
- Leo Pham, Bobby Stabile, and Maas Jacobs also competed within the B-brackets of singles play.
- The two Phams rolled into the round of eight in the B1 Doubles flight, besting a UMW pair 8-5 before getting bounced 8-4 by a crew from Franklin & Marshall.
- Suri and Guyot also won their B1 Doubles opening round showdown 8-2 against Lynchburg; they offered a stiff challenges to a Hopkins duo but lost 8-6.
- Stabile and Nicholas O'Dea were paired together in the Championship Doubles bracket.
With fall tournament season officially in the rearview, the Sea Gulls will shift focus to the spring 2027 regular season, whose dates and times will be revealed at a later date.
