NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team opened its fall tournament calendar at the Christopher Newport Invitational this past weekend at Eyre Courts. The Sea Gulls matched up in singles and doubles against the hosting Captains, as well as Shenandoah and Batten.
Maas Jacobs picked up a win in singles competition, knocking off CNU's Matt Miller 6-3, 0-6, 10-8. He also competed alongside
Nils Guyot in doubles play.
Other singles competitors for the weekend included
Lucas Pham,
Bobby Stabile,
Leo Pham, Guyot,
Nicholas O'Dea, and
Chase Catullo. Doubles pairs included O'Dea and Stabile, Jacobs and Guyot, and the two Phams.
The Sea Gulls will now turn their attention to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southeast Regional Tournament, set to be held on Oct. 2-4 at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va.
