FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team finished its season with a 9-0 loss at the University of Mary Washington in the Capital Athletic Conference championship match on Friday afternoon.
Senior Justin Smith and junior Adam Goldberger fell at No. 2 doubles, 8-4 while the pairs of senior Daniel Barnas/freshman Daniel Albers and senior Curtis Quandt/freshman Nick Mancuso lost 8-3 at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, respectively.
Barnas and Albers, in the top two singles spots, each claimed six games in defeat. Barnas fell 6-3, 6-3 to Alex Blahkin, at No. 1, while Albers lost 6-4, 6-2, at No. 2.
Goldberger also won six games at No. 4. After falling 6-1 in the opening set, Goldberger battled to a 7-5 loss in the second.
Quandt suffered a 6-2, 6-1 loss at No. 3 while Mancuso fell at No. 5, 6-1, 6-3, and Smith took a 6-1, 6-2 defeat at No. 6.
