Foley nets career-high 22 points to help Salisbury down Frostburg St., 79-57

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Salisbury University men's basketball team got back in the win column with a Capital Athletic Conference victory at Frostburg State University on Sunday afternoon, 79-57.

The Sea Gulls (8-5, 4-2 CAC) used a 42-point first half to take control of the contest and cruise to the conference victory. The maroon and gold knocked down 17-of-35 shots while going 30 percent form beyond the arc in the first half. Meanwhile the Salisbury defense held the Bobcats (5-8, 3-3 CAC) in check throughout the opening 20 minutes holding them to an 0-for-6 performance from beyond the three-point arc while forcing 14 Frostburg State turnovers and recording nine steals.

Three different players totaled double-digit points for the Gulls led by James Foley's career-high 22 points. Foley knocked down 10-of-15 shots from the field to record his second double-digit scoring performance of the season since opening night when he netted 11 against Washington (Md.) College.

Chad Barcikowski recorded Salisbury's first double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Barcikowski finished the night 5-of-8 from the field and 100 percent from behind the three-point arc while also sprinkling in four steals to cap off his day.

Jordan Brooks tallied his second double-digit performance of the season tallying 12 points on a 5-of-12 performance from the field.

Overall, Salisbury finished the afternoon shooting 47.6 percent from the field while totaling 42 points in the paint and 30 off of Bobcat turnovers.

The Sea Gulls return to action on Wednesday, January 10 against St. Mary's College of Maryland. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
