Box Score SALISBURY, Md.- The seventh-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team tallied sixteen goals against Rowan en route to a 16-7 victory over the Profs on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Rowan's Shannen Sterner opened the game's scoring four minutes into the first half off of a free-position shot.

Salisbury would then go on a four-goal run to respond to the Prof's early goal. Lydia McNulty converted a pass from Alexis Strobel to start the run for the Sea Gulls and tied the game.

An assisted goal by Gianna DeMato from Julie Talbert then unassisted goals by Riley Hartman and Strobel extended Salisbury's lead to 4-1 with 14:07 remaining in the half.

Rowan answered the Salisbury run with a goal from Riley Lechliter on a free-position opportunity to cut the lead in half, 4-2 with 13:15 left on the game clock.

Salisbury then went on a three-goal run. DeMato and Hartman netted their second goals of the day followed by an Emma Skoglund marker to push the Salisbury lead to 7-2.

Rowan answered the Salisbury run with a two-goal run of their own. Sterner netted her second goal of the game and Julia Grlica added her name to the scoring column to cut the Salisbury lead at half, 7-4.

The Sea Gulls came out of the second half with eight unanswered goals. McNulty got the scoring started a minute into the second half.

Strobel found DeMato on a man-down opportunity to score the second goal of the run extending the lead to 9-4. McNulty completed her hat trick a minute after the DeMato tally on a man-up opportunity.

Hartman and DeMato each registered their hat trick during the run to extend the lead to 12-4. DeMato's third goal came off a pass from Anna Robinson with 24:26 left in the game.

Strobel would then be involved in the next three Salisbury goals. Strobel found both Skoglund and DeMato in the slot to help them score a goal. Strobel then netted her second goal of the game with 15:20 remaining and to extend the lead, 15-4.

Rowan scored back-to-back goals to cut into the Salisbury lead. Lechliter scored off of a pass from Jamie Cutrera then Cutrera would tally on a man-up chance to make the score 15-6 with nine minutes remaining in the game.

Robinson netted the last Sea Gull score with seven minutes left in play to take the lead back up by ten, 16-6, over the Profs.

Sterner netted the final goal of the game off of a free position goal with fifty-five seconds remaining but Salisbury would secure the 16-7 win over Rowan.
