PREVIEW: Women's Lacrosse set to play in regionals at Washington & Lee

LEXINGTON, Va. – The third-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team will continue the hunt for the program's 5th NCAA Division III National Championship this weekend as they are set to play Washington and Jefferson in the regional semifinal game on Saturday, May 15 in hopes to advance to the regional final on Sunday, May 16.

Tickets will cost $6 for adults, $3 for students and senior citizens, and $2 for children under the age of 12.

Only two invited guests per player. Fans in attendance will have to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have to fill out a consent form.

SETTING THE STAGE

  • Salisbury advanced to the regional semifinal after defeating Morrisville St., 25-1. The Sea Gulls were led by Anna Robinson, who scored four goals and tallied four assists to help push Salisbury over the Mustangs.
  • Washington & Jefferson is making its debut in the tournament after the game against Farmingdale State was canceled. The Presidents claimed its first PAC Championship after defeating Thiel, 18-3. Amanda Effland tallied nine points (3G, 6A) and Kaitlyn Brown recorded nine saves to secure the automatic bid to the tournament.  
  • Ithaca remains in the tournament after a 23-1 victory over Notre Dame (Md.). Ithaca was led by Jacqui Hallack, who scored six goals and dished out two assists for the Bombers.
  • Washington and Lee downed FDU-Florham, 19-5, in the second round of the tournament. Hanna Bishop recorded five points on four goals and one assist to help the Generals advance to the third round.

WHAT'S ON THE LINE

  • The winner of the Salisbury vs. Washington & Jefferson matchup will play the winner of the Washington & Lee vs. Ithaca game in the regional final on Sunday, May 16
  • The game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
