SALEM, Va. – The third-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team continues the hunt for the program's fourth NCAA Division III National Championship as the Sea Gulls compete are set to play No. 8 Denison in the national semifinals on Saturday, May 22 in hopes to Sunday's title game. Saturday's game is set to begin at 5 p.m. at Kerr Stadium at Roanoke College.

SETTING THE STAGE

Salisbury advanced to its 13th Final Four weekend after defeating Ithaca 16-5 in the regional final. Salisbury and Denison matchup will be the fourth time the Sea Gulls and Big Red have met. Salisbury has the 2-1 advantage over Denison with the two victories dating back to 2000 and 2018.

Denison enters the first-ever semifinal appearance in the program's history. In the quarterfinal matchup, a second-half push by the Big Red offense helped Denison down Chicago, 10-7, after being tied at halftime. Against the Sea Gull, Denison's lone victory over Salisbury came with a 13-7 win in 1988.

Tufts looks to advance to its first-ever title game this weekend. Tufts downed TCNJ, 11-10, in the regional final. The last time the Jumbos and Sea Gulls met was in the Final Four weekend in 2019 as Salisbury won 14-11 to advance to the title game.

St. John Fisher advanced its first semifinal after a 9-5 win over Messiah in the Elite Eight. Salisbury and St. John Fisher have never met.
