SALEM, Va. – The No. 3/4 Salisbury University women's lacrosse team looks to capture its fourth national championship as the Sea Gulls are set to face No. 3/4 Tufts in the NCAA Division III National Championship title game on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. opening draw.

HOW WE GOT HERE
- Salisbury advanced to the program's ninth NCAA Division III National Championship game after a dominating 20-10 win over No. 8 Denison in the semifinal game.
- Lydia McNulty, Lauren Valenti, Erin Scannell and Riley Hartman scored three goals each to help push the Sea Gulls over the Big Red.
- Scannell also collected a team-best six draw controls while Carrie Hesen added three.
- Alexis Strobel dished out a game-high seven helpers in the ten-goal victory.
- Bri Held and Hesen paced the Sea Gull defense combining for nine ground balls. Six of them being picked up by Held for the most in her career.
- Mary Claire Hisle continued her strong play in the goal as she recorded five saves against Denison.
HOW THEY GOT HERE
- Tufts advanced to the program's first title game in program history with a two-goal win over No. 9 St. John Fisher, 12-10, on Saturday.
- Emily Games led the Jumbo's attack by netting four goals against the Cardinals.
- Also recording a team-high four points, Anna Clarke netted three goals dished out one assist.
- Clarke also collected a team-high four draw controls while Ananda Kao won three draws.
- Three different players caused two turnovers along with three other players picking up two ground balls to pace the Tufts defense against St. John Fisher
- Molly Laliberty recorded nine saves in net for the Jumbos.
SEA GULLS VS. JUMBOS
- This is the second time ever that the Sea Gulls and Jumbos will face each other in the NCAA Division III National Championship tournament.
- The first meeting between Salisbury and Tufts was in the Final Four weekend in 2019 when Salisbury downed Tufts 14-11 to advance to the title game.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
- The Sea Gulls are chasing the program's fourth championship and first since 2014. With a win, Salisbury would secure the second undefeated season in team history (2013, 23-0).
- Tufts is looking for the program's first-ever national championship. Tufts seeks revenge against Salisbury for ending its season in the semifinal game, 14-11, in the program's first-ever Final Four appearance in 2019.
