SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury University freshman forward
McKenna Horner was selected as the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in the Sea Gulls 3-2 win over top-ranked Rowan on Wednesday.
The Deal Island, Md. native scored all three goals to help the third-ranked Sea Gulls knock off the previously unbeaten Profs, including the game-winner with 35 seconds left in the contest. Horner's hat trick was the third multi-goal game of her career.
It is the second consecutive week that a Salisbury player was picked as the C2C Offensive Player of the Week as
McKenzie Mitchell earned the honor on Oct. 17. It is the eighth time this season that Salisbury received a C2C Player of the Week award.
Salisbury will wrap up its regular season home schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 26 against C2C rival, CNU. The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start at Sea Gull Stadium.
