SALISBURY, Md. – The top-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team remained undefeated after a dominating 15-7 win over the Rowan Profs on Tuesday in Sea Gull Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Rowan started the scoring less than a minute into the game when Jamie Cutrera found the back of the net to give the Profs the early 1-0 lead.
• Salisbury responded with a five-goal run, including goals from Erin Scannell, Meridith Price, Anna Robinson and a pair of goals from Lydia McNulty.
• Ashley Lechliter stifled the run after she netted the first of her two goals on the day with 6:20 left in the first.
• McNulty and Scannell rounded out the scoring in the first quarter with their third and second goals of the day respectively, to give the Sea Gulls a 7-2 lead after one.
• Salisbury continued the offensive clinic and added four more unanswered goals in the second quarter. The run was highlighted by Scannell's third goal of the day and back-to-back goals from Lily Cavallaro to round out a 7-0 run and give Salisbury an 11-2 lead with 8:14 left in the second quarter.
• Lechliter scored her second goal of the game with 3:35 left in the first half to cut into the lead.
• Salisbury responded to Rowan's tally a minute later when Scannell scored her fourth and final goal of the day. Camryn Pepper scored a goal in the final 30 seconds of the half that gave the Sea Gulls a 10-goal lead, 13-3, heading into halftime.
• Leah Vilov and Becca Puente scored the final two goals for Salisbury in the third quarter to cap the final 4-0 run for the Sea Gulls to push the lead to 15-3 at midway through the third.
• Chloe Shea found the back of the net for the Profs with 3:14 left in the third. Rowan then scored three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to give the game it's final score of 15-7.

SALISBURY GAME NOTES

• Erin Scannell continues to lead the Salisbury offense. She scored a game-high four goals on five shots. Scannell has scored at least three goals in each of the first four games of 2022.
• Lydia McNulty registered four points from three goals and one assist. McNulty also scooped up a ground ball.
• Lily Cavallaro scored two goals on two shots and scooped up a ground ball.
• Anna Robinson registered three points from one goal and tied for a team-high two assists.
• Emma Skoglund had two points on one goal and one assist.
• Mary Hanzsche tied a team-high two assists.
• Delaney Hill had a game-high six draw controls.
• Mary Claire Hisle earned the win in goal and recorded two saves on five shots faced.
• Kaitlyn Hunsinger recorded two saves on six shots faced.
• The Sea Gulls outshot the Profs, 29-16.

ROWAN GAME NOTES

• Ashley Lechliter scored a team-high two goals on five shots.
• Five other Profs scored a goal.
• Erin Renshaw and Julianna Corson had the two assists for Rowan.
• Reilly Shaup earned the start in goal and recorded one save on 11 shots faced.
• Mel Rodgers recorded six saves on 11 shots faced.

UP NEXT

• Salisbury will travel to Chestertown, Md. to battle with Eastern Shore rival, Washington, in the War on the Shore on Saturday, March 5.
• The contest is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
