MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Salisbury University track and field teams kicked off St. Patrick's Day weekend with solid performances over the first two days of the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, hosted by the City of Myrtle Beach on Thursday and Friday at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

Through two days of the three-day meet, the Sea Gull women sit in fifth place with 19 points, while the men are currently in 12th with eight points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Men
- Rajan Turner set a personal best in the 800m with a 2:05.41 mark, good for second place.
- In a stacked field, Cameron Hasko took fourth in the javelin, throwing for 59.35m (194-08).
- Nearly reaching his personal record, Rashawn Markman scored three points for the Sea Gulls with his 6.99m (22-11.25) long jump that placed him sixth.
- Thomas Niblock took ninth in the 400m at 51.97 seconds against a field of over 50 other runners.

Women
- Freshman Anna Bodmer was the big name to know on Thursday, setting a school record in the 10,000m at 37:31.90, good for 10 points with her first-place finish. Rachel Roberts also set a personal record at 39.37.00, which placed her fourth in the event.
- Kristen Riddell took third for the Sea Gulls in the mile, running a 5:57.25 in her race.
- Both Erin Connelly and Lily Rupp set personal records in the 800m. Connelly placed third at 2:30.29, and Rupp took fifth just behind Connelly in 2:31.09.
- The 4x200m relay squad of Karia Forvil, Marlyse Haack, Julie Thomas, and Mia Hill teamed up for a 1:46.79 fifth-place finish.
