Men’s Golf ties for 14th at Kinder-Williams Invitational

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University men's golf team finished its first action of the new era by tying for 14th place after the second and final round at the Kinder-Williams Invitational, hosted by Bridgewater College on Tuesday at Lakeview Golf Course.
 
The Sea Gulls shot a 28-over 316 for the competition's second day, just one stroke off their pace for round one. Across the two rounds SU shot a 55-over 631, tying with Ferrum for 14th in the field and sitting just six strokes back of 13th-place Shenandoah (625).
 
GAME NOTES
  • Ryan Henneman capped an impressive collegiate debut by shooting a one-over 73, tying him for 15th in the field of 96 with a two-day total of a four-over 148. Henneman birdied six holes in his second round, including back-to-back birdies on holes two and three.
  • Dominic Cahill shot a six-over 78 in round two for a 16-over 160 over the two rounds to tie for 65th. Cahill birdied the first and second holes of the round as part of four birdies for the day.
  • Mason Ellis tied with Cahill for 65th place and matched his round-one score with an eight-over 80 in round two. Ellis chipped in three birdies on the day, including two over three holes on seven and nine.
  • Parker Pruitt posted a 13-over 85 with one birdie in round two, wrapping up the week at a 19-over 163 and a tie for 72nd.
  • Matthew Daughtry shot a 19-over 91 for SU's drop score and finished the two days at a 39-over 183, good for 92nd overall.
 
The Sea Gulls will have a quick turnaround as they head to Black Rock Golf Course in Hagerstown, Md., for the Catholic-hosted Cardinal Fall Classic on Saturday and Sunday. Tee time for round one is slated for 9 a.m.
