Men's Golf Will DeBoer

Men’s Golf earns top-10 finish at Black Rock; Henneman places fourth

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – The Salisbury University men's golf team saw one Sea Gull finish top-five individually and another slot in the top 15 en route to earning a top-10 team placing at the Cardinal Fall Classic, hosted by Catholic on Sunday at Black Rock Golf Course.
 
The Sea Gulls shot a 21-over 309 in the second round of the tournament, finishing the weekend with a 37-over mark of 613 to tie for ninth with Hood and Penn State Mont Alto.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Ryan Henneman eagled on the 16th hole and led the individual field for a portion of the afternoon, ultimately finishing his round at a one-under 71. Henneman's two-day total of a four-under 140 was good for fourth overall, two back of a three-way syndicate of Shepherd golfers who tied for first.
  • Parker Pruitt improved two strokes from his round one mark by shooting a one-over 73. His four-over 148 for the weekend earned him a tie for 15th place.
  • Dominic Cahill shaved three strokes off his opening round by shooting an eight-over 80 in round two. Cahill placed 62nd overall with a 19-over 163 for the weekend.
  • Mason Ellis finished tied for 63rd after shooting a 13-over 85 for the day and a 20-over 164 for the tournament.
  • Grant Ferrier matched Ellis for the day with a 13-over 85; Ellis' score was counted toward the SU total on a handicap tiebreaker. Ferrier placed 66th by recording a two-day 22-over 166.
 
The Sea Gulls return to action in a week at the Shenandoah Invitational, set to be held on Sunday and Monday at the Winchester Country Club. Tee times are to be determined.
