GREENSBORO, N.C. –
Sydney McCallie of the Salisbury University women's swimming team made further history by staking her second All-America claim at the 2025 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center, placing 15th in the 400-yard individual medley to become a Second-Team All-American.
McCallie (Gr. – Mineral Wells, W.V.) finished 12th in the morning prelims with a time of 4:24.65, clinching a spot on the event's All-America Second Team. In the evening B-final, McCallie posted a 4:27.19 mark to place 15th nationally. Her five points between the two events tie SU for 27th in the team leaderboard through two days.
McCallie is now a two-time All-American at this year's national championships after taking 14th place in Wednesday's 200 IM to make that event's Second Team. Already the
first women's All-American in Sea Gull history, she matches
Chris Bembenek as the only two-time All-American in the history of SU swimming. Bembenek earned All-America status in the men's 100 back and 200 back in 1998.
Adding her four honors swimming at nationals for Kenyon College in 2022-24, McCallie is now a six-time All-American as a collegiate swimmer.
McCallie will race in her third and final event at the NCAA Championships on Saturday; she boasts the 22nd seed in the 200-yard breaststroke. Prelims will open at 10 a.m. with finals set for 6 p.m.
