Track & Field soars to team wins in Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet

SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University track and field teams kicked off the 2025 outdoor season with first-place finishes for both the men's and women's squads at the Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet on Saturday afternoon at the SU Track & Field Complex.

With 359 points scored, the Sea Gull men took first during the meet, with Goldey-Beacom following up at 89 and Delaware TC in third with 47.

The Sea Gull women racked up 278 points compared to second-place Goldey-Beacom (135) and third-place Stevenson (63).

Meet Notes Men
- The Sea Gulls placed three in the top five of the shot put. Logan Aldridge earned second place at 13.21 meters (43-04.25) while JJ McCauley and Logan Kelsch grabbed third and fourth at 12.54 meters (41-01.75) and 12.46 meters (40-10.50).
- SU also dominated the hammer throw, taking the top three spots. Mason Breeze earned first place at 48.38 meters (158-08), while Kelsch took second at 47.04 meters (154-04). Jacob Reeves earned third at 44.61 meters (146-04).
- McCauley and Reeves earned first and second in the javelin throw with throws of 43.98 meters (144-03) and 43.93 meters (144-01), respectively. Evan Eickhoff earned third at 43.70 meters (143-04).
- Kelsch, Reeves, Breeze, and McCauley finished one through four in the discus.
- In the 3000-meter steeple chase, Tristan Dutton earned first place with a time of 10:08.91 while Connor Kinch grabbed second at 10:22.64.
- SU dominated the 1500-meter run with five runners in the top six. Graham Schultz earned first with a time of 4:12.69. Landon Lewicki placed second with a time of 4:14.38, and Cormac Moroney placed third with a time of 4:18.19. 
- Andrew Moxley and Christian Arturi earned second and third in the 110-meter hurdles with times of 16.61 and 16.87.
- Justin Freeman placed third in the 400-meter with a time of 52.05.
- SU took all top three spots in the 100-meter as Jacob Shelton, Aaron Dufresne, and Mason Cassady finished one, two, and three in that order with times of 10.74, 10.88, and 11.01. 
- Rajan Turner posted a PR in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.29, which was good enough for a 2nd place finish. Justin Friscia earned a third-place finish with a time of 2:04.78.
- In the 400-meter hurdles, Alexander Nelson took the top spot with a time of 58.06. Jude Rykaczewski placed second with a time of 58.79.
- Cassady and Dufresne earned the top two spots in the 200-meter while Nolan Racette and Shelton rounded out the top five. Cassady posted a PR of 22.57 while Dufresne finished with a time of 22.85. Racette posted a time of 23.01.
- SU placed seven in the top 10 in the 5000-meter run. Sam Bodmer earned first place with a time of 15:46.83. Declan Burke and Austin Cave rounded out the top three with times of 15:58.12 and 16:00.84. 

Meet Notes Women
Kailey Jarboe earned a 6th place finish in the shot put at 8.90 meters (29-02.50). She also took 6th place in the discus at 25.85 meters (84-09) while earning second place in the hammer throw with a throw of 33.99 meters (111-06).
- Hayden Adams grabbed a 2nd place finish in the javelin throw 29.64 meters (97-03).
- Emma Smyser took first place in the pole vault at 3.20 meters (10-06.00). Smyser also earned second place in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:00.60.
- The Sea Gulls placed five in the top six of the long jump. Marlyse Haack took home the gold with a jump of 5.39 meters (17-08.25). Emma Christman took home second place with a jump of 5.09 meters (16-08.50), while Arieon McKoy earned third with a jump of 4.85 meters (15-11.00).
- Christman went on to earn first place in the triple jump at 10.73 meters (35-02.50).
- In the 1500-meter run, Peri Nelson took home gold with a time of 5:24.04, while Marisa Servis set a PR and a second-place finish at 5:25.51.
- Brooke Hamer ran a 16.00 flat for a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. Kennedy Atkins grabbed third place with a time of 16.72. Hamer also won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.55.
- Haack earned a second-place finish in the 100-meter while also setting a PR with a time of 12.68. Lilly Williams grabbed third with a time of 12.80.
- Hayley Spicknall and Ava Wagner earned second and third in the 800-meter with times of 2:38.22 and 2:39.89.
- In the 200-meter, the Sea Gulls placed four in the top five. Williams, Haack, and Smyser earned second through fourth while Julie Thomas earned 5th with a time of 28.16.
- Anna Bodmer and Madi Sisson dominated the 5000-meter run with first and second place finishes. Bodmer posted a time of 18:50.29 while Sisson earned a time of 19:14.39. 

Salisbury track and field heads to one of the nation's biggest early season meets at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, which runs from March 14-15 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
