Both Track & Field programs earn USTFCCCA All-Academic

NEW ORLEANS – All-Academic Teams for the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's & Women's Track & Field seasons were announced on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Cumulative team GPA of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least a 3.10 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester/quarter. 

Awarded to all nominated student-athletes who meet ALL the following criteria: Cumulative team GPA of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least a 3.10 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester/quarter.

The Sea Gull men's team posted a team GPA of 3.328, while the women's team posted a team GPA of 3.441. The Sea Gulls also saw five student-athletes earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors individually. 

Jadon Gaines (Information Systems), Hayden Myers (Information Systems), Isaiah Rivera (Communications), Kai Smith (Exercise Science), and Anna Bodmer (English) highlighted the list for SU. 

Awarded to all nominated student-athletes who meet ALL the following criteria: Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale through the most recently completed grading period. Meet one of the following athletic criteria: Must have finished the season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who participated at the Indoor OR Outdoor National Championships, are eligible. Must have competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the descending order list on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 35 relay teams, but who participated in the relay at the Indoor OR Outdoor National Championships, are eligible. Finally, any competing relay team member on an expanded descending order list to include 35 institutions (1 relay team per institution) is eligible.

All five of these student-athletes also earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors. Gaines, a freshman from White Hall, Md., earned gold in the high jump with a height of 1.88 meters (6-02.00) at the C2C Outdoor Championships. Myers, Rivera, and Smith earned gold in the 4x400 relay at the C2C Outdoor Championships. Bodmer, the junior from Dickerson, Md., became the first woman in program history to run the 5000-meter run under 17 minutes. Bodmer posted a time of 16:46.36, earning 5th place. Her time broke the school record and the Coast-To-Coast Conference record.
