Men's Basketball alum Frink drafted eighth overall in Liga De Desarrollo Draft

Guatemala City, Guatemala – The Salisbury University men's basketball team alum Kedrick Frink Frink was selected with the second pick in the second round by the Amatitlán Pepesqueros in the 2026 Liga De Desarrollo Draft this past weekend.

Frink, a native of Sunderland, Md., came to the Maroon and Gold by way of Washington (Md.). Frink was named to the All-C2C second team in the 2024-2025 season and averaged 12 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in his lone season with a Salisbury squad that reached the ECAC tournament championship.

"It was a special moment as a coach." Head coach Maurice Williams said. "Kedrick's entering into our program last year was a huge boost for our culture. He was an "everything guy" who loved getting better and finding ways to help his teammates."

Liga De Desarrollo is heading into its inaugural season in 2026, featuring native players from Guatemala and international players selected in a three-round draft last Friday. The league consists of six teams that will compete against each other over the next seven weeks, with the best four teams reaching the playoffs.

The 6-3 guard from Huntingtown High School has always eyed a jump into the pro ranks, according to Williams.

"This has been a dream of his to play at the professional level, and he has worked very hard to get his opportunity after graduation last spring," Williams added.

The selection of Frink adds a second Sea Gull in the pros after Paul Garcia '22 was drafted in 2024 to the Philippine Basketball Association

Frink and the Pepesqueros embark in its first game in team history on Friday.
