What would you say your hometown is known for?
New Hampshire in general is typically known for beautiful views, you know – the mountains, lakes, just a lot of outdoor attractions and activities.
What's your favorite hometown hangout spot?
I like going to Dublin Lake, which is pretty close to my house. I love going with my family and friends – we'll go swimming in the summers, and you can ice skate on it in the winter.
Which local sports teams do you root for?
A lot of the Boston teams – the Celtics, Patriots, that's about it.
How did you hear about Salisbury University?
I was talking to my high school coach, and his former coach knew of it. I definitely wanted to look for somewhere a little bit warmer than New Hampshire, so he recommended that I look at Salisbury. When I came here on my visit, I just loved the girls and loved the atmosphere, and that's how I ended up here. And it does snow less here in the winter, which is what I was looking for, and the summers are warmer a little earlier, so that's really nice.
What's the biggest difference between life in your hometown and life here in Salisbury?
The biggest difference is definitely the taxes. Everything is taxed here, and pretty much nothing in New Hampshire is taxed – we have no income tax or sales tax.
What's something you can turn to that reminds you of your hometown on the days when you miss it?
Just talking to my family and friends, you know. New Hampshire has such a close-knit community – so does Salisbury, so that definitely helps – but getting in touch with home by talking to my parents or seeing them when they come to games is great.
How would you sell someone on visiting your hometown?
Definitely the views, the mountains – you can go snowboarding and skiing in the winter and swimming and boating in the summer. Also, the fact that nothing's taxed there is really nice.
