Three teams carry top-five rankings out of February

SALISBURY, Md. – Presenting Roadie Joes Rankings for the fourth Wednesday in February, featuring top-five positioning for Salisbury men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, and baseball, and some post-conference meet movement for men's track & field.
 
Men's Lacrosse – 2nd | USILA Division III Top 20, Feb. 23
Salisbury held steady at No. 2 with 509 points and a pair of first-place votes, trailing only Tufts (538, 25 first-place) in the national rolls. Christopher Newport (484), RIT (457), and Bowdoin (429) made it another week of no change in the top five.
 
The Sea Gulls passed its first big test of the season on Saturday, outflanking then-No. 10 Gettysburg 15-12 at Sea Gull Stadium. Riley Strub led the way up front with five goals and two assists, including a pair of highlight-reel goals to put it away late, while Blake Malamphy won 21 face-offs and absorbed 15 ground balls.
 
SU faces another stiff challenge on Saturday as No. 15 Lynchburg comes to town for a 1 p.m. showdown.
 
Women's Lacrosse – 3rd | USA Lacrosse Magazine Division III Top 20, Feb. 23
Salisbury remained in the bronze position in the top media poll behind Middlebury and Tufts, with Colby leapfrogging Franklin & Marshall for fourth.
 
The Sea Gulls were idle following the postponement of Sunday's game against No. 11 Washington & Lee. SU will return to the field twice over the weekend, visiting Washington College on Saturday at 12 p.m. and hosting W&L on Sunday at 1 p.m. inside Sea Gull Stadium.
 
Baseball – 4th | D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25, Feb. 24
Salisbury moved up from fifth to fourth in the first regular season poll of the year, garnering 532 points and one first-place vote. Trinity (Texas) [576], Lynchburg (559), and Kean (551) made up the top three.
 
The Sea Gulls are 3-1 to start the season and went 1-1 at the D3 Showcase over the weekend with a win over then-No. 3 Denison on Friday and a loss to then-No. 6 Lynchburg on Saturday. Cole Williams picked up Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Pitcher of the Week honors after a shutdown performance out of the bullpen to beat Denison on Friday.
 
SU's first matchup of the week against Cairn on Wednesday has been postponed. The Sea Gulls will host a pair of games over the weekend, facing TCNJ on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Arcadia on Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
Men's Track & Field – 12th | USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field Rating Index, Feb. 24
Salisbury elevated its standing by one with 46.19 points, landing between No. 11 Washington St. Louis (66.13) and No. 13 John Carroll (41.55).
 
The Sea Gulls placed second at the C2C Indoor Championships over the weekend, winning gold medals in six events and finishing just 20 points back of titlist CNU. Kai Smith was named Track Athlete of the Meet after winning the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes with times that sit in the top three nationally in each event.
 
SU will send a parade of athletes to the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Indoor Championships on Mar. 6-7 at The Armory in New York City, and qualifying athletes will compete at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships on Mar. 13-14 in Birmingham, Ala.
