Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Players of the Week | Feb. 2-8, 2026

SALISBURY, Md. – Two Salisbury University student-athletes garnered Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Players of the Week laurels following weekly honors from the Coastal Lacrosse Conference (CLC) and Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C).

Men's lacrosse's Connor Herraiz earned the Sea Gulls their first CLC Offensive Player of the Week nod for the season, while Kai Smith set a blistering pace on the way to his second straight C2C Track Athlete of the Week prize.

Connor Herraiz | CLC Offensive Player of the Week | First Career
Herraiz (Sr. – Succasunna, N.J.) tallied 13 points over Salisbury's first two wins of the season against Eastern and Grove City. In Monday's opener at Eastern, he netted two goals and dished out two assists. Then on Saturday in a neutral bout with Grove City, he racked up a career-high nine points with two goals and seven helpers. Herraiz's prowess helped SU win both matchups by a combined score of 43-15.

Kai Smith | C2C Men's Track Athlete of the Week | Ninth Career (Second This Season)
Smith (Sr. – Upper Marlboro, Md.) posted a pair of national top-five marks at Saturday's Big Apple Invitational on Staten Island, winning the 60-meter dash in 6.74 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 21.18 seconds. Both times broke Sea Gull and C2C records in the events, and Smith wrapped the day ranked second in Division III in the 200 meters and fifth in the 60 meters.
