Women’s Lacrosse keeps top slot; Men’s Lacrosse, Baseball, Men’s Track & Field post strong numbers

SALISBURY, Md. – Presenting Roadie Joes Rankings for the third Wednesday in April, featuring continued strong figures for women's lacrosse, men's lacrosse, baseball, and men's track & field.
 
Women's Lacrosse – 1st | Division III Women's Lacrosse NPI, Apr. 12
Salisbury (14-0) kept hold of the poll position within the NCAA Power Index at 75.364 points, followed by Middlebury (74.342) in second and three other NESCAC schools [Tufts, Amherst, Wesleyan (Conn.)] rounding out the top five. SU also maintained No. 4 in the IWLCA rolls.
 
The Sea Gulls earned their grittiest victory of the season on Saturday at No. 18 TCNJ, erasing a 4-0 first-half deficit to top the Lions 6-4. Avery Dunbar and Abby Fleishell swept the weekly Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) awards after contributing mightily to SU's 20 caused turnovers and a 39-minute TCNJ scoreless stretch to finish the game.
 
SU readies for its penultimate regular season game on Saturday against St. Mary's (Md.) Opening draw control at Sea Gull Stadium for the "Morgan's Message" game is slated for 1 p.m.
 
Men's Lacrosse – 5th | USA Lacrosse Magazine Division III Top 20, Apr. 13
Salisbury moved up from seventh to fifth in the media poll, leapfrogging No. 6 York (Pa.) and sitting just beneath No. 4 Christopher Newport. SU is also sixth in the USILA rankings and eighth in the NPI.
 
The Sea Gulls kept rolling through Coastal Lacrosse Conference (CLC) play with a 28-8 triumph at Kean on Saturday. Riley Strub and Blake Malamphy each secured weekly hardware from the CLC as SU moved to 3-0 in league play, winning their three games by a combined margin of 68-22.
 
SU will head to Newport News, Va., for its annual showdown with CNU on Saturday at 3 p.m. The winner will earn homefield advantage throughout the upcoming CLC Tournament.
 
Baseball – 13th | D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25, Apr. 14
Salisbury dipped one position from 12th to 13th with 242 points, ahead of No. 14 CNU (237) and trailing No. 12 Kean (309). SU slotted 36th in the most recent NPI.
 
The Sea Gulls posted a 2-2 mark over the previous week with wins over Arcadia and Virginia Wesleyan coupled with a pair of defeats to Randolph-Macon. SU bounced back with a 6-3 upset of then-No. 5 Shenandoah on Monday and followed it up with a 14-5 dub over Neumann on Tuesday.
 
SU will host C2C foil Mary Washington on Saturday. Senior Day festivities are slated for 1:45 p.m. with first pitch at Donnie Williams Stadium tabbed for 2 p.m.
 
Men's Track & Field – 16th | USTFCCCA Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index, Apr. 14
Salisbury posted up at 16th in this week's coaches' metric with 94.66 points, landing between Johns Hopkins (97.53) at No. 15 and No. 17 Cortland (93.33).
 
The Sea Gulls were idle over the past weekend and will return to action on Saturday at home for the Eastern Shore Challenge. First events for the program's Alumni and Senior Day meet are slated for 11 a.m. inside the SU Track & Field Complex.
