FREDERICK, Md. - The Salisbury University
women's basketball team won its third straight game Tuesday evening
as they beat the Hood College Blazers, 75-54, at the Gambrill
Gymnasium in front of a crowd of 230.
The Sea Gulls (3-1) and Blazers (0-3) were tied at 18 with 8:30
to play in the first half but Salisbury outscored Hood 24-8 over
the remainder of the half to take a 42-26 lead into halftime.
Jessica Mills and Meghan
Phillips both scored 11 first half points to lead the
Gulls and finished the game with 13 and 17 points, respectively.
Salisbury's largest lead was 17 with less than 16 minutes to
play before Hood cut the lead to seven with 10 minutes left in the
game. SU pulled away as the Sea Gulls went on a 24-10 run to clinch
the game.
Salisbury out rebounded Hood, 47-42, as they were led by
Kylie Hall who pulled down a team high nine
boards.
The paint was controlled by Salisbury who scored over half of
its points inside (34). Hood was paced by Jennifer Willison who
scored a game-high 18 points.
The Sea Gulls return to action at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 2,
as they host York College (Pa.) in a Capital Athletic Conference
game
