ARLINGTON, Va. - The Salisbury University
women's basketball team lost its second straight Capital Athletic
Conference game Saturday afternoon, 62-56, to Marymount University
(Va.) before a crowd of 420 at the Verizon Sports Arena.
The Sea Gulls (9-7, 4-3 CAC) were led by junior guard
Meghan Phillips who finished with a team-high 18
points which included 4-of-6 shooting from three-point range.
Senior Meghan Klug recorded a double-double as she
scored 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Fellow senior
Jessica Mills was the other Sea Gull in double
figures with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Marymount (10-6, 5-1 CAC) took a four point, 30-26, lead into
the intermission and built as large as a 15-point lead with four
and a half minutes remaining in the game as the Saints held on to
win their third game in the row. Salisbury shot 25 percent in the
first half and only 29 percent for the game.
SU has dropped five of its last six games dating back to the
championship game of the Lady Monarch's classic on January 6.
The Saints were led by Terell White who scored a game-high 19
points and grabbed six rebounds.
The Sea Gulls will next play on Monday, January 22, as they
travel to Glassboro, N.J., to face Rowan University in a
non-conference game at 6 p.m.
