Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. - The Salisbury
University women's basketball team continued its winning streak
this afternoon as the Sea Gulls took down Salem College, 61-42, in
the second and final day of the Jackie Ammons Memorial Tournament
hosted by Peace College.
Senior Kylie Hall (Baltimore, Md.), who led
the Sea Gulls (2-0) to a 10-point victory against Peace College
yesterday afternoon, continued her hot streak as she posted her
first double-double of the season. The forward netted 13 points
while scooping up 14 rebounds; for her efforts, she was named the
All-Tournament MVP.
Junior guard Chante'
McKinney (Gaithersburg, Md.) also had a stellar
weekend, as she was named to the All-Tournament team. Additionally,
sophomore guard Glen
Charlton (Landover, Md.) contributed to the Gulls'
cause with 13 points. The maroon and gold's back-to-back wins gave
them the tournament win.
The Sea Gulls fell behind in the first half, trailing Salem
21-25. Salisbury shot out of the gates in the second half,
outscoring Salem (2-1) a staggering 40-17 to take the win by almost
20 points. Salisbury saw seven different players score in the
victory.
Salisbury will come home for its next contest, squaring off
against Capital Athletic Conference foe Hood College on Dec. 2.
Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
