Sea Gulls pick up first CAC victory over the season with 10-0 win over Gallaudet

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The No. 11 Salisbury University men's soccer team picked up its first Capital Athletic Conference victory of the season with a 10-0 defeat of Gallaudet University on Wednesday in Washington, D.C. The Sea Gulls (6-0, 1-0 CAC) had a balanced effort in today's match as 15 players registered a point.

Senior midfielder Kyle Sterling (Salisbury, Md.) led the way for the Sea Gulls as he scored two goals in the contest. SU also received goals from senior Ben Reed (Arnold, Md.), juniors Dave Corrigan (Brookefield, Conn.), Chris Finney (Columbia, Md.) and Casey Rector (Ellicott City, Md.); sophomores Ian Wilson (College Park, Md.) and Morgan Hunt (Millsboro, Del.); and freshmen Pat Callahan (Clarks Summit, Pa.) and Jimmy Mundy (Ellicott City, Md.). Seniors Alex Hargrove (Clarks Summit, Pa.) and Nick Malone (Salisbury, Md.) plus junior Ben DeLisle (Baltimore, Md.) each dished out two assists in the win.

Head coach Gerry DiBartolo was able to get all four goalkeepers into the game with senior Greg Wellinghoff (Salisbury, Md.) picking up the victory.

The Sea Gulls will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Roanoke, Va. for a non-conference match with Roanoke College. The last time the two teams squared off was Oct. 4, 2008, with the Maroons winning 1-0 in Salisbury, Md.
