Box Score SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak in a big way on Saturday afternoon – with a resounding double-digit victory against visiting Goucher College to improve to 4-5 (2-1 Capital Athletic Conference) on the season.
Junior guard Milan Dry got things started for the Sea Gulls, netting their first four points of the game. Salisbury led by as many as 10 points in the first half, but Goucher's offense narrowed that lead; regardless, the maroon and gold took a 33-25 advantage into the locker room at halftime. Dry, along with junior guard KC Curran, led Salisbury in the first half; both players netted 12 points. Curran went 3-for-4 from behind the arc.
Salisbury's advantage would only increase as the second half progressed, beginning once again with Dry – this time a jumper 31 seconds into the half – and the Sea Gulls soared from that point on, going on a 12-4 run to put what would have been the Gophers' first win of the season out of reach.
Junior forward Katie Green netted her first career points as a Sea Gull, netting a pair of free throws with just over six minutes left to give Salisbury a 20-point lead over Goucher (0-6). The Sea Gulls would maintain that 20-point advantage as the final buzzer sounded and the scoreboard read 65-45 in Salisbury's favor.
Dry netted a team-high 18 points in the victory, tying her career high, while senior guard Chante' McKinney pulled down a career- and team-high 11 rebounds.
Salisbury now hits the road for four straight contests after being at home for its past five games; the Sea Gulls will face The College of New Jersey on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 3 p.m.
