DOVER, Del. – Freshman Anna Hackett scored a game-high 21 points and added six assists and two steals to lead the Salisbury University women's basketball team to a 66-43 win in Capital Athletic Conference action at Wentworth Gym on Wednesday.

Hackett shot 9-for-17 from the floor in posting her second consecutive 20-point outing. She also had two rebounds and a block for SU (7-5, 5-1 CAC).

Junior Katie McGahagan earned her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Classmates Meghan Dunn and Milan Dry each finished with eight points. Dunn grabbed eight rebounds and Dry had seven.  Junior Nicole Sisco tallied seven points and eight boards off the bench.

Down, 8-7, five minutes into the game, Hackett hit a free throw and Sisco knocked down a jump shot to put the Sea Gulls ahead for good at 10-8 with 14:19 to play in the first half.

Hackett scored six of SU's next eight to open an 18-12 advantage with another jumper midway through the period. McGahagan gave the Gulls their first double-digit lead of the night with a basket at the 7:08 mark to make it 24-14.

SU went into the break leading, 30-12.

McGahagan began the second half with two straight layups for a 34-18 edge before Dunn grabbed one of her six offensive boards and put it up and in to give Salisbury a 20-point bulge at 43-23 with 15:52 to play.

Wesley (2-9, 1-3) could not get closer than 16 points the rest of the game as SU cruised to its second straight win.

The Sea Gulls shot 27-for-61 (44.3 percent) from the field, including 14-of-28 (50 percent) in the second half while outrebounding the Wolverines, 48-28, for the game.

Jazmin Miller registered 13 points and eight rebounds for Wesley and Rachelle Allen had 10 points and a game-high five steals.

SU travels to play York (Pa.) College Saturday at 4 p.m.
