DOVER, Del. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team traveled up route 13 on Sunday afternoon to take on Wesley College and came away with the 64-47 victory.

Salisbury (7-2) and Wesley (1-6) kept the game close for all of the first quarter, with neither able to build more than a five-point lead. The Sea Gulls scored the first four points of the contest on baskets by Kaylee Otlowski and Megan Konig, but the Wolverines answered back with the next two baskets. The game stayed close in the second quarter as the Wolverines refused to let the Sea Gulls pull away. A Dalina Julien driving layup pushed Salisbury's lead to 27-17 with 4:36 remaining before the half and marked the first double-digit lead of the contest. Still trailing 31-20 with just over three minutes remaining, Wesley went on an 8-0 run to cut its deficit to three, but Salisbury went on a 5-0 run of its own in the final 90 seconds to head to the lockerroom with the 36-28 lead.

The Wolverines slowly cut into their deficit in the opening minutes of the third quarter that included a 9-4 run that concluded with a three-pointer by Sydney Pederson. Salisbury scored the next six points and closed the quarter on an 8-2 run to lead 48-39.

Salisbury opened the fourth quarter on a 12-5 run that was capped by a Rachel Ryan layup with 3:17 remaining to push the lead to a comfortable margin, 60-44. With the game in hand, the Sea Gulls were able to close out the contest and walk away with the 64-47 victory.

Ryan recorded her first double-double of the season, scoring 17 points and pulling down 12 rebounds over 25 minutes. Kaylyn French led all scorers with 19 points, while Konig paced all Sea Gulls with eight assists.
