Box Score SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's soccer team lost a tight match to the 10th-ranked Messiah University Falcons on Thursday, 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 11th minute of the match, Esther Seeland launched a deep pass towards a streaking Thea Neimond, who beat the Sea Gull goalkeeper Emma Hill one-on-one to put Messiah on the board early.
- The score remained the same at halftime with the Falcons defense only allowing one shot by the Sea Gulls in the first half.
- In the 66th minute, Salisbury had a golden opportunity after Autumn Dougherty broke away from the defense and crossed the ball into the box and found Maia Burger who was one-on-one with goalkeeper Lydia Watkins. Watkins made a tremendous sliding save to preserve the 1-0 lead for Messiah.
- The Falcons put up another score in the 89th minute of the game after Rachael Tirjan drew a hard foul in the box. Kayla Herr took the penalty kick and scored the final goal of the game to give Messiah the 2-0 victory.

- Salisbury will host the Eagles of Mary Washington this Saturday, Oct. 30. in its final Coast-to-Coast (C2C) Athletic Conference matchup.
- The contest is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the SU Soccer Complex.
