Box Score ASTON, Pa. – Behind a 30-point third quarter, the Salisbury University women's basketball team got back on track against the Neumann Knights, winning 74-59 on Wednesday night at Bruder Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tied 2-2 within the opening two minutes, Kylie Webb hit a layup and followed it up with a three-pointer on her next touch to put the Sea Gulls up 7-2 at the 6:05 mark of the first quarter. Tierra Harris answered for the Knights with a layup, then after an Abby Wilkinson bucket Harris sank another layup and then managed a three-point play to tie it at 9-9 at the 3:50 mark.
- Madison Stewart's layup capped a 7-0 NU run to put her team up 11-9, but Ashlynn Burrows hit one-of-two from the free throw line and Webb knocked down another triple at the buzzer, giving SU a 13-11 advantage at the end of the first.
- Stewart tied it with a layup on Neumann's first possession of the second quarter, setting up another 7-0 run that Stewart capped with another layup to make it 18-13. Webb nailed her third trey to stop the bleeding for SU, but after each team hit a field goal Allyson Wills connected from deep to rebuild the NU lead to 23-18 with 4:54 until halftime.
- Down 24-19 at the 3:59 mark, Wilkinson knocked down a three, then after a Neumann free throw Kolby Brown got it to 25-24 with a layup, and Webb's free throw tied it at 25-25 with 2:14 to go.
- The Sea Gulls briefly took a 27-25 lead on a Wilkinson layup with 50 seconds left, but Wills nailed a trey and then hit a layup as the clock expired to give the Knights a 30-27 cushion headed into halftime.
- Kaylee Otlowski opened the third quarter for SU with a layup, then Webb's jumper put Salisbury back on top 31-30. The teams went back-and-forth for the first four minutes of the third, then with the score tied 34-34 at the 5:41 mark, Webb nailed her fourth triple of the night to set off a huge Sea Gull run.
- Lauren Fortescue followed Webb's three with a two, then Jada Welbon hit a layup-and-free throw to make it 42-34 Sea Gulls. Buckets from Hailey Ader and Otlowski capped a 12-0 Salisbury push that put the visitors on top 46-34 at the 3:28 mark.
- Salisbury kept its eye on the hoop even after a Knight free throw broke up the home side's dry spell. Leading 48-37 with 2:04 to go in the third, Fortescue, Burrows and Brown each hit a pair of free throws, then after Aubrie Briesblatt went 1-of-2 at the line for Neumann, Brown drained a three to give SU a 57-38 lead as the key period came to an end.
- The Sea Gulls stayed comfortably in front for the whole fourth quarter, not letting Neumann get closer than 14 the rest of the way. With the lead down to 68-54 at the 3:35 mark, Fortescue converted a three-point play, and Madison Cuthbert hit 3-of-4 free throws to build SU's lead to 74-54 with 2:07 to go.
- Neumann scored five points in the final minute to give the game its final 74-57 margin as the Sea Gulls snapped a two-game skid.
SALISBURY GAME NOTES
- Kylie Webb led all scorers with a career-high 19 points, knocking down four of her six three-point attempts to go 6-of-9 from the floor. Webb also pulled down three rebounds and managed two steals.
- Kaylee Otlowski netted 14 points (7-of-12) with eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks on a well-rounded night.
- Lauren Fortescue got back into double figures with 12 points (4-of-10), plus four boards.
- Kolby Brown chipped in a season-high eight points off the bench, while Abby Wilkinson contributed seven first-half points.
- The Sea Gulls shot 46.3 percent (25-of-54) for the game and went 6-of-16 (37.5 percent) from three-point range. SU also hit 18-of-26 (69.2 percent) from the free throw line.
- During their 30-8 third quarter, the Sea Gulls hit 10 of their 21 shots and went 8-of-12 at the free throw line while holding NU to 2-of-15 shooting. Salisbury closed the third on a 23-4 run over its final six minutes.
- SU forced 18 Knight turnovers, managing six steals, and won the turnover battle by four.
NEUMANN GAME NOTES
- Tierra Harris paced the Knights with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting and managed a double-double with 10 rebounds.
- Allyson Wills scored 13 points, hitting three treys. Terea Hunt added 10 points.
- The Knights connected on 39 percent (23-of-59) of their baskets and hit a paltry 8-of-19 (42.1 percent) from the charity stripe.
- NU outrebounded the Sea Gulls 37-36, including 16-11 on the offensive end.
UP NEXT
- The Sea Gulls return home to host the Eastern Eagles on Friday afternoon. The game, originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, was moved up a day due to the impending winter storm approaching the East Coast.
