GREENWOOD, Ind. – Six Salisbury University athletes across three sports were recognized on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III Academic All-District At-Large teams, as revealed by the organization last month.
Men's lacrosse player
Braden Glushakow represented SU on the men's at-large team, while the women's at-large team featured field hockey players
Mack Dinopoulos,
Christine Goetz and
Isabel Larrabee, as well as women's lacrosse players
Riley Hartman and
Erin Scannell.
Glushakow, a senior from Hebron, Md., sports a 3.89 grade-point average as a Marketing major. Away from the field he is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi and Chi Alpha Sigma honor societies and has made the Dean's List on several occasions. Glushakow was
recognized as the SU Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year in April.
Glushakow played in 23 of the Sea Gulls' 24 games in 2023, scoring three goals with 33 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers. He was recognized as a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Honorable Mention All-American and Second-Team All-Coastal Lacrosse Conference (CLC), playing an integral role for a Salisbury team that went 23-1 and won its 13th national championship in program history.
Dinopoulos, a senior from Lusby, Md., boasts a 3.58 GPA as an Exercise Science major and a Marketing and Gender & Sexuality Studies double minor. A Dean's List honoree multiple times over, she was the captain of her Relay for Life team and volunteered with Prom Promise and the Sea Gull Century bicycle race.
Dinopoulos appeared in all 19 games for Sea Gull field hockey in the fall, scoring five goals with five assists for 15 points over 1,031 minutes of action. She picked up National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) First-Team All-Region and First-Team All-Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) honors and also participated in the NFHCA Senior Game in November.
Goetz, a junior from Eldersburg, Md., carries a 3.90 GPA as an Exercise Science major on the Allied Health track and a Psychology minor. In the SU community she has worked with Prom Promise, Sea Gull Century, Operation Teddy Bear and Admitted Students' Day, making the Dean's List on several occasions.
Goetz started all 19 games for Salisbury, racking up 1,097 minutes as a key member of a defense that posted 10 shutouts and gave up fewer than one goal per game in 2022. Goetz earned Second-Team All-NFHCA and First-Team All-C2C recognition.
Larrabee, a sophomore from Lexington, Mass., has posted a 3.78 GPA as an International Business major. She has volunteered for Sea Gull Century, Prom Promise and Relay for Life at SU in addition to making multiple Dean's Lists.
Larrabee started all 19 games with 1,066 minutes on-field for the Sea Gulls in 2022. Like Goetz, she was a Second-Team All-NFHCA and First-Team All-C2C honoree, joining her teammates in guiding the Sea Gulls to an 18-1 record and a berth in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.
Hartman, a senior from Towson, Md., boasts a 3.71 GPA as a Respiratory Therapy major. She is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society, made the Dean's List on multiple occasions and began work as a registered respiratory therapist at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore after graduating from SU.
Hartman started 18 of the Sea Gulls' 19 games in 2023, scoring 27 goals with eight assists for 35 points, plus 33 draw controls, 11 round balls and six caused turnovers. She was recognized as a USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention All-American, Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) First-Team All-Region and First-Team All-C2C.
Scannell, a senior from Fallston, Md., holds a 3.64 GPA as an Early Childhood Education major. She has been honored on the Dean's List multiple times at SU.
Over 18 starts for the Sea Gulls in 2023, Scannell scored 29 goals with three assists for 32 points, as well as 15 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers and three draw controls. She played a key role for a Salisbury team that finished 15-4 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament regional semifinals.
These six Sea Gulls are now eligible for CSC Academic All-America honors; the at-large teams will be revealed later this month.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must hold at least a 3.5 GPA and be at least an academic and athletic sophomore. Athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of their teams' competitions with strong athletic and academic credentials.
