Women’s Golf claims CWGC bronze to close out fall

Brosius breaks program single-round record, finishes sixth

OXFORD, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's golf team closed out the fall season with a bronze medal at its first-ever conference tournament, placing third after the second and final round of the inaugural Colonial Women's Golf Conference (CWGC) Tournament on Tuesday afternoon at Wyncote Golf Club.
 
The Sea Gulls shed 11 strokes from their opening round total by carding a 59-over 347 in round two. Combined with its first-day 358, SU posted a 129-over 705 for the tournament, placing comfortably in third out of six complete teams and well ahead of fourth-place Johnson & Wales Charlotte (772). No. 21 Babson (632) claimed the first-ever league championship, while No. 28 Christopher Newport (651) finished runner-up.
 
ROUND NOTES
  • Krista Brosius once again toppled her own single-round program record, shooting a six-over 78 including birdies on 10 and 12. She now owns the top five single-round scores and top three two-round cards in modern program history (since 2024).
  • Brosius, who shot four strokes better from Monday to Tuesday, finished the tournament with a 16-over 160, placing sixth in the field of 35 individuals and one stroke back of CWGC All-Tournament Team accolades, which went to the top five finishers.
  • Sydney Lynott climbed two slots to finish 12th in the field, carding an 18-over 90 for the day and a 33-over 177 for the pair.
  • Emma Wivell took 16th with a 39-over 183 for the two rounds, shaving five strokes off her Monday total by shooting a 17-over 89 on Tuesday.
  • Victoria Heid gave the Sea Gulls four finishers in the field's top half, slotting 17th with a 41-over 185 and also improving by five strokes round-to-round with an 18-over 90. Heid shot a birdie on par-five 10.
  • Brosius, Lynott, Wivell, and Heid improved their individual standings by a combined 10 positions from round one to round two.
  • Addison Sage posted the SU drop score for the round at a 29-over 101, including a birdie on par-five nine. Sage finished 34th after a disqualification of her Monday score.
 
The Sea Gulls will now enter their winter hiatus and forge ahead into the spring 2026 calendar. Salisbury's spring schedule will be revealed at a later date.
