Field Hockey earns two NFHCA All-Americans

COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announces the 48 Division III student-athletes selected by member coaches as 2025 NFHCA All-Americans, sponsored by Apex Field Hockey. These outstanding athletes have been named to the First, Second, and Third Teams, highlighting their remarkable performances this fall. Join us in celebrating this distinguished group of field hockey student-athletes. The Salisbury University field hockey program saw Marli McDorman earn First-Team honors, while Madelyn Reed tallied Second-Team Honors.

McDorman, the Pocomoke City, Md. native, set new career highs in goals (18) and assists (14) on the way to the 50-point season. She netted three goals with one assist in the SUNYAC championship game against Cortland on the way to earning Tournament MVP, and is now a three-time First-Team All-Region honoree and a back-to-back Region Player of the Year. She also earned NFHCA First-Team All-Region as well as SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Year. Now she can add back-to-back First-Team All-American to the resume. McDorman surpassed the 100 points total for her career as a Sea Gull this season as well.

The honors keep rolling in for Reed as well. Reed, the Felton, Del. native, posted four goals with eight assists for a total of 16 points. She posted two game winners, leading one of the top mid-fields and defenses in the country, while also earning SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Year, NFHCA First-Team All-Region, and ECAC Defensive Player of the Year. Reed helped the program lead the nation in shutouts (16), ranked No. 2 in goals-against average (0.49), tied for No. 5 nationally in goals per game (4.0), and tied for No. 6 nationally in winning percentage (0.864). This is her first All-American recognition.

The NFHCA Division III All-American announcement is the third in a list of postseason awards from the NFHCA. The association has already released the 2025 NFHCA Division III All-Region teams and the 2025 NFHCA Division III Regional Players of the Year. The NFHCA Division III National Player of the Year will be announced on December 18.
