LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After a pair of strong efforts in two Sea Gull victories last week,
Jeremiah Stafford of the second-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team earned the long-stick midfield spot on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Team of the Week, announced on Wednesday evening.
Stafford, a junior from Darien, Conn., totaled 10 ground balls and two caused turnovers during the week, digging out five ground balls in each of SU's contests against St. Mary's (Md.) and Montclair State while disrupting a pair of Seahawk possessions in last Tuesday evening's affair. Stafford has dug out five or more ground balls on five different occasions this season including each of his last three outings.
Stafford secures his first national weekly honor after
being named the 2025 season's first Coastal Lacrosse Conference (CLC) Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 10th. The Darien High School product currently ranks 22nd in Division III in caused turnovers per game, taking the ball away 2.56 times per contest.
The Sea Gulls conclude the regular season on Friday, April 25th with a road trip to Chestertown, Md., meeting the Washington College Shoremen for the 57th installment of the storied "War on the Shore" rivalry. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium.
