NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Salisbury University cross country program traveled to Newport News, Va., to compete in the CNU Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Lee Hall Mansion course. The SU men won the event while the women placed 3rd, led by
Anna Bodmer, who claimed the overall title.
The Sea Gull men won the meet with 30 points, finishing well ahead of host Christopher Newport University, which posted 62 points. Bridgewater College (Va.) placed third with 93 points. The Sea Gull women earned 3rd place with 78 points. CNU won the event with 37 points ahead of second-place finisher, VCU, with 44 points.
Men Meet Notes
- SU posted two runners in the top five and four in the top 10 on the 8k course.

Tristan Dutton led the way, earning 4th place with a time of 26:07.22.

Connor Kinch also earned a top-five finish in 5th with a time of 26:18.65.

Gabe Riling and
Seth Barron rounded out the top 10 for the Sea Gulls. Riling earned 6th place with a time of 26:22.65 while Barron placed 10th at 26:52.68.
- The Salisbury dominance continued, adding three more runners in the top 15.
Landon Lewicki placed 12th with a time of 27:05.66.
Bradley Helman and
Cormac Moroney earned 14th and 15th, respectively.
- Helman placed 14th with a time of 27:15.57, while Moroney finished close behind in 15th at 27:26.03.
Women Meet Notes
- Bodmer placed first overall for the Sea Gull women on the 6k course with a time of 22:21.80.

Leah Snyder and
Madi Sisson earned top 15 finishes, respectively. Snyder earned 12th with a time of 24:07.30, while Sisson placed 14th at 24:14.34.

Miranda Bournique earned a top 25 finish in 23rd with a time of 24:36.87.

Peri Nelson rounded out the scoring for the Sea Gulls in 28th with a time of 24:58.06.
The Sea Gulls are back in action on home turf during the Don Cathcart Invitational on Sep. 27th, beginning at 2 p.m. at Winter Place Park for Senior and Alumni Day.
