HUMMELS WHARF, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's golf ream completed a notable opening week with another strong round, finishing fifth at the Susquehanna Fall Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club.
The Sea Gulls posted a 78-over 358 as a collective, good for a top-five placement in the field of 14, one stroke better of sixth-place Franklin & Marshall (359), and two fewer than seventh-place Moravian (360). York (Pa.) won the team title with a 41-over 321 on the day.
ROUND NOTES
- Sydney Lynott tied for 13th among 74 individual golfers, shooting a 12-over 82 on the afternoon. Lynott shot her only birdie of the day on the par-five 10th hole.
- Krista Brosius carded just one more stroke than Lynott, finishing with a 13-over 83 and a birdie on 11 to tie for 18th.
- Victoria Heid birdied 12 and 17 to enter the clubhouse at a 25-over 95, good for a 35th-place tie.
- Emma Wivell tied for 40th with a 28-over 98, while Addison Sage posted SU's drop score with a 34-over 104.
The Sea Gulls will play in their first two-day tournament at the Bridgewater Invitational on Monday and Tuesday Sept. 22-23. Tee time of both rounds from the Lakeview Golf Course in Harrisonburg, Va., is penciled in for 11 a.m.
