HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University women's golf team kicked off its first two-day event of the season, entering the clubhouse ranked sixth after round one of the Bridgewater Invitational on Monday at the Lakeview Golf Course.
The Sea Gulls shot a 63-over 351 as a team, good for sixth place out of eight teams and four strokes up on Southern Virginia's B-team (355). Salisbury sits 12 strokes back of fifth-place Shenandoah (339).
ROUND NOTES
- Sydney Lynott chipped in a trio of birdies on four, nine, and 11 en route to an 11-over 83 for the day, tying for 15th in the field of 50 heading into round two.
- Krista Brosius and Addison Sage both shot 15-over 87s and share 27th on the leaderboard. Like Lynott, Brosius and Sage each birdied on par-four nine.
- Caroline Fitzgerald shot a 22-over 94 in her first collegiate round, sitting in a tie for 38th.
- Emma Wivell tied for 41st with SU's drop score of a 25-over 97.
The Sea Gulls will finish off their final 18 of September with the second and final round of the Bridgewater Invitational on Tuesday morning at Lakeview.
