Cross Country honors seniors, Bodmer wins big at Don Cathcart Inv’l

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University cross country teams sent their seniors out in style at the 39th annual Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday at Winter Place Park.
 
The Sea Gull men won the team meet behind five top-11 finishers, netting 33 points to edge out second-place Navy (34) and best the field of eight. The Sea Gull women finished third of nine teams with 67 points, trailing only victorious Navy (24) and second-place Christopher Newport (55).
 
After the races, Salisbury recognized its nine graduating seniors who completed their last home race. The women's team recognized Kristen Riddell, Marisa Servis, Madi Sisson, and Leah Snyder; while the men's team spotlighted Austen Cave, Tristan Dutton, Connor Kinch, Landon Lewicki, and Graham Schultz.
 
Men Meet Notes
  • Tristan Dutton led the pack of frontrunning Sea Gulls by finishing third in a personal-best time of 25:06.0.
  • Cormac Moroney placed sixth in a time of 25:22.0, while Austen Cave (25:25.4) slotted eighth and Connor Kinch (25:28.3). All three set personal records.
  • Gabe Riling rounded out the Sea Gulls' scoring with an 11th-place finish in 25:28.6.
  • Landon Lewicki (25:41.5) and Seth Barron (25:46.8, PR) also cracked the top 15, finishing 13th and 14th respectively.
 
Women Meet Notes
  • Anna Bodmer won her second consecutive individual race, breaking the tape in 21:39.9 to smash her own personal record by nearly eight seconds.
  • Madi Sisson crossed in 22:50.4, finishing 12th, while Leah Snyder took 15th in a personal-best 23:11.0.
  • Camryn Russum (23:46.6) and Mia Malizia (24:01.0, PR) capped the SU scoring by placing 21st and 22nd, respectively.
  • Marisa Servis posted a top-25 finish, crossing 24th in 24:02.9.
 
The Sea Gulls will run their final race of the regular season at the Rowan Border Battle on Saturday, Oct. 18. Starting gun from Glassboro, N.J. is set for 10 a.m.
