ABBOTSTOWN, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's golf team recorded its second straight top-five finish after a strong second and final round at the McDaniel Spring Invitational on Sunday at The Bridges Golf Course.
The Sea Gulls shaved five strokes off their Saturday card with a 79-over 367, good enough to move into a tie for fifth place with St. John Fisher with a 163-over 739 for the weekend. SU finished the tournament within five strokes of fourth-place Franklin & Marshall (734).
ROUND NOTES
- Krista Brosius secured her sixth top-10 individual finish of the 2025-26 slate, posting a 15-over 87 for a two-day 25-over 169 that was good for sixth in the field of 57 finishers.
- Victoria Heid carded a 13-over 85 on the day to establish a new career-best single-round score. The mark was a five-stroke improvement from her Saturday round and vaulted her into 10th overall with a 31-over 175.
- Sydney Lynott improved by seven strokes from round-to-round with a 17-over 89, giving her a 41-over 185 for the weekend and a tie for 18th.
- Kaeli Newcomb posted a 34-over 106 on the day, finishing at 69-over 213 in 46th place.
- Cailin McCoy recorded the SU drop score for Sunday with a 39-over 111; she finished right behind Newcomb in 47th at 71-over 215.
The Sea Gulls return to action on Thursday with a single round at Hershey Country Club East in Hershey, Pa., for the Elizabethtown Invitational. Tee time is posted for 12 p.m.
