Nest to Nest | Will Noble, Men’s Soccer

SALISBURY, Md. – Introducing "Nest to Nest," a new recurring series spotlighting the big miles and bigger stories of the Sea Gull student-athletes on each team who traveled the farthest to be at Salisbury University. This week, we profile an SU men's soccer goalkeeper, Will Noble, whose picturesque hometown could double as a location from a Noah Kahan song.

Will Noble | Jr. Goalkeeper, Men's Soccer
Hometown: Saxtons River, Vermont
Population: 479
Distance from Salisbury: 448 miles
Driving Time: 7 hours, 51 minutes

What would you say your hometown is known for?
Absolutely nothing. It's got [Saxtons River] that goes through it, one main street, the woods, and lots of trails. But I love my hometown, and I love my people from there.

What's your favorite hometown hangout spot?
The river. My boys and I growing up, we would just take our bikes down to the river, spend the day down there, go up on the trails, and do some mountain biking.

Which local sports teams do you root for?
All of the New England teams. The Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins – those are my go-to teams.

How did you hear about Salisbury University?
My aunt Kim Cohee lives in Cambridge, Maryland, so I've always made visits down here and been familiar with the Eastern Shore. Visiting her was how I knew about Salisbury in the first place.

What's the biggest difference between life in your hometown and life here in Salisbury?
That's tough…I'd say the biggest difference is the size of the community. My community at home is very tight, but it's very small. So the biggest difference being in Salisbury is being able to have this giant network of people that you don't have where I'm from.

What's something you can turn to that reminds you of your hometown on the days when you miss it?
I like to listen to music, so I'll put on some older country songs like "Fly Over States" by Jason Aldean. Listening to something like that definitely reminds me of home.

How would you sell someone on visiting your hometown?
Well, it's a small Vermont countryside town. It got great foliage in the fall, great hiking, and a lot of stuff to see. It's beautiful, it's just really small, so I would definitely say sightseeing is what I'd most recommend if you visit.
