The most decorated single athlete in the history of NCAA Division III, Luke Campbell won an unprecedented 11 national titles across the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships from 2013-16. Ten of his gold medals came in hurdling events – including four straight in the outdoor 110-meter hurdles – with an 11th coming as anchor of the Sea Gulls' indoor 4x400-meter relay team in 2016.

A 16-time All-American who broke seven Salisbury track records over his tenure and still holds six, Campbell won 24 CAC gold medals and helped lead the Sea Gulls to seven of a possible eight men's team conference titles, as well as a fourth-place finish at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships. He was a back-to-back United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Outdoor Athlete of the Year in 2015-16 and won Most Outstanding Performer at the NCAA Outdoor Championships three consecutive times (2014-16).

Following his graduation, Campbell embarked on a decade-long professional career that saw him reach the sport's pinnacle by qualifying for the 2020 Summer Olympics. Campbell represented Team Germany in two events in Tokyo, advancing to the semifinals in the 400-meter hurdles and running the second leg of the German 4x400-meter relay.
