Mike Celenza (Class of 2020)

Celenza left SU as one of the most prolific hitters in program history. The first baseman was a 2009 All-American Second Team selection by D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), the ABCA South Region Player of the Year and National College Baseball Writers Association South Region Position Player of the Year. A three-time All-Region pick, Celenza earned first-team honors in the CAC all four years at Salisbury and was tabbed as the CAC Player of the Year in 2009.  

When Celenza finished his playing career, he was the program leader in career runs batted in (212), doubles (51), hits (251, now second), total bases (400), walk (123) and games played (175). Celenza also tied for first in sacrifice flies (14, now tied for second), second in batting average (.395, now third), runs scored (192, now third), home runs (31), third in slugging percentage (.635) and on-base percentage (.503).

Celenza helped the Sea Gulls make four NCAA tournament appearances, win three CAC Championships and win a team record 41 games in 2008.
