Salisbury Athletics Hall of Fame
A stalwart defender, McGovern stepped up on both ends of the pitch to help the Sea Gulls win their fifth field hockey national championship in 2009, assisting on the only goal of a 1-0 triumph over Messiah. SU qualified for the NCAA Tournament all four seasons with McGovern and won a trio of CAC championships in 2008, 2009, and 2011.
McGovern was a three-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American, including a first-teamer in 2009, and a four-time NFHCA All-Region selection with three first-team nods. She also made the All-CAC First Team each of her four years, winning CAC Rookie of the Year in 2008 and Player of the Year in 2009. McGovern started 77 of her 78 career games for the Sea Gulls, scoring 12 goals and ranking top-10 in SU history with 25 assists.
